They find an agent who promises to help them move to the US. He wants to return the money to farmers but can do this only if he can land a job in the US.
Hailing from a small village, Mohan has a huge debt to pay owing to his failed milk business. Loosely based on the Kollywood film Aandavan Kattalai, the movie, produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, revolves around Mohan Patel (Thakar) and his friend Hardik Patel, played by Hemin Trivedi.
Helmed by National Award-winning director Manish Saini, Gujarati movie Shubh Yatra (bon voyage), starring Malhar Thakar, deals with this subject subtly with plenty of humour, but does not come across as preachy. Many of them resort to illegal methods to turn their 'US Dream' into reality. The craze among the people of Gujarat to go to the US is well known.
